A quiet brand built in layers
The Velvet Hour began as a practice of slowing down—sketching, printing, and finishing by hand until each piece feels inevitable. We make small collections that balance softness and edge: art prints, objects, and limited drops shaped by process, texture, and light. Everything you see is part portfolio, part shop—work you can live with, gift, and keep returning to.

The Velvet Manifesto
At The Velvet Hour, we believe craft is a kind of timekeeping—each piece holds a moment you can return to. We make work that feels quietly bold: deliberate lines, rich texture, and color that lingers. From studio to shipment, every detail is chosen so what you bring home feels personal, lasting, and worth the pause.
Our process
From sketchbook to finished piece

01
Collect & Observe
Every collection begins with a quiet study. We gather references from architecture, film stills, vintage ephemera, and everyday textures, then translate them into a mood board of color, silhouette, and feeling. The goal isn’t to copy—it’s to find the thread that makes the work unmistakably Velvet Hour.

02
Make, Test, Refine
Next comes iteration: thumbnail sketches, material tests, and small-batch prototypes. We check how paper holds pigment, how a surface catches light, and how a design reads from across a room. Each revision is about clarity—keeping what’s essential, removing what’s only decoration, and sharpening the final voice.

03
Finish & Release
When a piece feels complete, we move into finishing: final color balancing, edge details, and presentation. Every item is handled with care—signed where appropriate, packed to arrive pristine, and photographed honestly so what you see is what you receive. Then it’s released in limited drops, ready for collecting or gifting.
